Participant: $40 (12+ y.o.)

Observer: $15

This class offers the opportunity for 15 lucky (first come, first served) musical theater singers to work one-on-one with Josh. There is also an opportunity to be an “observer” and see up close how it all works, should you not feel like singing yourself, or all the vocal slots are filled up.

All participants must have a 16-32 bar (1 minute) audition cut prepared to work on, including sheet music.

Josh served as the music director on the Tony-Award winning

“A Gentlemen’s Guide to Love and Murder” national tour, and is gearing up for the second national tour of “The King and I." 

He is a recent graduate of New York University’s Steinhardt School, and an alum of The University of Michigan and the

Juilliard School.

 

Josh is best known for his work as a classical pianist with the Moscow Philharmonic and Detroit Symphony Orchestras, His love of musical theater started right here in Hawaii, where his first musical theater shows were at Manoa Valley Theater (Rent, Smokey Joe’s Cafe). Since then, he has served as the music director for Pins and Needles (NYU Steinhardt), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Irvington Town Hall Theater), Truth or Lie (Fourth Street Theatre), Who Is Eartha Mae? (United Solo). Other favorite credits include My Fair Lady, Merrily We Roll Along, True Love, and Little Shop of Horrors (Sharon Playhouse), Kiss Me, Kate (NYU Steinhardt), The Secret Garden and Trojan Women (NYU Tisch).

Sheldon began his career with The Walt Disney Co.

He is NYC-based actor and a recent graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, and alum of The University of Central Florida.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sheldon is a graduate of Kamehameha (‘04) and began his career dancing at Disneyland in “Block Party Bash” while attending Chapman University as a dance major. He then relocated to Orlando to begin working on a variety of shows across the Walt Disney World property, including “The Spirit of Aloha” at The Polynesian Resort, and “High School Musical” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. He was also the host of the national/international tour of “Disney’s Rockin’ Road Show” (Feld Entertainment). Past credits include: “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” & “The Boy Friend” (TheaterZone), “Back to the 50’s” (The Fireside Theater), “Altar Boyz” (Florida Theatrical Assn./Theater Downtown), “Take Me Out” (Studio 620) & “Angels in America” (Orlando Fringe). Back home in Hawaii, past shows include: “On Dragonfly Wings” & “In the Clear Blue Sea” (Ohi’a Productions), “RENT”, “Smokey Joe’s Cafe” and “Batboy: The Musical” (Manoa Valley Theater).
